Evan Stroud, 98, of Dowagiac, died Saturday, March 28, 2015.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 1,2015, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. in Dowagiac with his niece Doris Manley leading
the service.

Visitation will be held beginning from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at the funeral home.

Graveside Services will follow at Harrison Cemetery in Decatur. Those wishing to leave a memory or condolence of Evan online may do so at www.clarkch.com.

Evan was born Nov. 13, 1916, in Mountain View, Arkansas to Amos and Annie (Key) Stroud. Evan worked for 30 plus years as a lineman for the railroad.

Evan had a special place in his heart for children. He also enjoyed the comfort of having a pet around. Evan is survived by his son, Gerald Stroud of Decatur, many nieces and nephews, and two very special nieces who brought him great joy; Jenna Roden and Regan McGowen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the Cass County Animal Shelter.
