Michael Allen Griffith, 55, of Buchanan passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles.

Michael was born Jan. 2, 1960, to Johnnie and Mary Griffith in Abilene, Texas. Michael graduated from Abilene High School, Abilene, Texas in 1978. He then went to the University of Texas where he played baseball and graduated with his Bachelor’s degree. Michael worked for Bradley Company in South Bend as a commercial property manager. He was an avid and very talented golfer. On October 17, 2008, he married Kathryn Decker at a ceremony in Chicago.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; son, Chad Michael Griffith; daughter, Isabella “Bella” Griffith; mother, Mary K. Griffith; brother, Jackie (Jena) Griffith; step children, Julie Wenger, Kevin Wenger II and Heather Ditz and one grandchild Brayden Ramey.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Johnnie.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015. There will also be visitation held from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.
