Jan. 2, 1926 — March 19, 2015

Lorene Wallace, 89, passed away Thursday morning, March 19, 2015, at Bronson Commons Nursing and Rehab, in Mattawan.

She was born Jan. 2, 1926, in Moulton, Alabama the daughter of the late Burnett and Elvertie (Rainey) Morgan.

After growing up in Moulton, Lorene and her family moved to Lawton, Michigan in 1953.

Lorene enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, puzzles, country music and telling stories about family life and family history. She was a loving and caring mother of her family.

On Oct. 5, 1951, in Iuka, Mississippi Lorene was united in marriage to Odes Wallace, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are six children, Avon (Richard) King of Gobles, Diane (Ali) Elwaer of Decatur, Joan Waldschmidt of Dowagiac, Patricia Wallace of Lawton, Jean (Foy) Hall of Danville, Alabama and Reno (Linda) Morgan of Danville, Alabama; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother, George (Bessie) Morgan of Moulton, Alabama; many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Friday (March 20) 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Young officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton.
