Debra Eckman Sieck, 50, of St. Bonifacious, Minnesota, formerly of West Dundee, Illinois died on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Hospice House after suffering with ALS. She was surrounded by her family.

Debi was born in Dowagiac, and graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1983. On March 23, 1991, she married Scott Frederick Sieck. They have one son, Carter Frederick Sieck born in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Debi is survived by her husband Scott; and son Carter of St. Bonifacious, Minnesota; parents, Pennie Eckman of Dowagiac and James (Jan) Eckman Sr. of Mt. Prospect, Illinois; sister, Deedra (David) Rhoa of Mattawan, Michigan; brother, James (Karen) Eckman, Jr. of Dowagiac; nieces and nephews, Brittany and Nicholas Rhoa, Adam and Annika Eckman; mother-in-law, Sue Sieck of Freeport, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, James Sieck.

A time for relatives and friends to visit with Debi’s family will be Saturday, March 28, from 2-4 p.m. at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. in Dowagiac. Debi volunteered as a trained hospital advocate for the Community Crisis Center when she lived in Illinois. She has requested memorials be sent to Community Crisis Center, P.O.
