The accolades continue to roll in for the Niles wrestling team.

The Vikings, who reached the Division 2 Team semifinals for the third consecutive year led the All-Southwest Michigan Wrestling team with five first-team selections.

The All-Southwest Michigan team is selected by the area coaches association.

Andrew Flick (30-4), Brenden Hall (36-10), Noah Hall (41-6), Mitch Findeisen (32-12) and Sean Craig (30-8) were all first team picks for the Vikings.

Flick finished third at 103-pounds, Noah Hall sixth at 145-pounds and Brenden Hall seventh at 125-pounds at the MHSAA Individual State Wrestling Championships.

Niles’ Todd Hesson shared Coach of the Year honors with Decatur’s Brian Southworth.

The Viking had Josh Dayhuff  (119), Warren Smith (135), Quintin Smith (152), Fred Kemp (160) and Ted Jackowiak (215) named to the second team. Cade Stephenson (112), Courtland Lamberton (140), Cody and Wyatt Thornton (189), Carter Rauch (285) and Alex Bata (285) were honorable mention picks.

Brandywine’s Michael Kachur (103), Jesse Lochmondy (130), Corbin Eckenberger (145) and Charlie Rodriguez (215) were honorable mention selections.

Buchanan’s Eddie Washington (215) was also an honorable mention pick.

Dowagiac’s Tristan Howard, who finished fifth in Division 3 at 285, was a second team selection.
