Mildred Elizabeth Horvath, 96, of Niles, passed away at West Woods of Niles on, Friday, Feb. 27, 2015.

Mildred was born on Dec. 3, 1918, in Mount Clemens, Michigan to the late William and Anna (Schram) Miller. In 1942 Mildred wed Louis Horvath and in 1948 they moved to Niles.

She and Louis owned the Whistle Stop Restaurant in Niles, Michigan and Louie’s Restaurant in Buchanan, Michigan. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Niles.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband, in 2004; sister; and two granddaughters.

She is survived by her children, Lawrence “Lonnie” (Kathy) Horvath of Niles, Marlene Olson of Phoenix, Arizona, Lois (Ron) Bujtas of Sun City, Arizona, Nancy (Ron) Ray of Sun City, and Terri (Roger) Ginter of Graniteville, South Carolina, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Mildred’s wishes she has been cremated and her family will be holding a private graveside service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Niles.
