Brandywine wraps up regular season 19-1

The No. 2-ranked Brandywine girls basketball team overcame a slow start to defeat visiting White Pigeon 50-21 in a BCS non-divisional game Tuesday night.

The Bobcats wrapped up another outstanding regular season by finish 19-1.

Brandywine will now begin preparation for the Class C District tournament, which begins next week in Cassopolis.

The Bobcats and the Chiefs both struggled offensively through the first eight minutes of action Tuesday night.

Brandywine took a 7-0 lead into the second quarter and then exploded for 18 points to open up a 25-7 halftime advantage.

The Bobcats outscored White Pigeon (12-7) 25-14 in the second half.

Brooke Smith and Michaela Hartline were the lone players to reach double figures in the contest as they led Brandywine with 13 and 10 points respectively.
