Those looking for a fun way to give back to the greater Niles area still have an opportunity to take part in this weekend’s Trivia Night, put on by the Niles Service League.

Proceeds go back to the Niles Service League, a philanthropic organization serving the Buchanan, Brandywine and Niles area since 1934.

“This is probably the second biggest thing we do every year,” said Jenny Yarbrough, a member of the Niles Service League who is heading up the trivia night event. “We are usually able to raise a couple thousand dollars from it.”

Trivia night will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Post 26, located at 104 N. 3rd St., Niles.

The cost to participate is $100 for a team of eight people, which comes out to $12.50 per person.

There will be adult beverages available as well as a silent auction and raffles.

The winning team will receive $200.

Yarbrough said there are plenty of spots still available. Organizers hope to have at least 12 teams, but could have as many as 15. As of Wednesday morning, six teams had signed up.

“It’s a good night of fun and entertainment and it helps a good cause,” Yarbrough said.

The Niles Service League works with area schools to identify children and special needs. It also assists with Christmas families, camperships, college scholarships and more.
