Longtime Dowagiac City Clerk Jim Snow served his last day in office on Friday, retiring after more than 30 years of service within city hall.

Snow (second from left) was presented with a special tribute plaque in recognition of his career in public service to his community by State Sen. John Proos (left) and State Rep. Aaron Miller (second from right). Also on hand was Clay McCausland, the district director with Congressman Fred Upton’s office.

In-part, the plaque reads:

“While Jim’s tenure as clerk has ended, his service to the community and friendly personality will be remembered for years to come. Both his service in office and his willingness to serve the members of his community has left a profound impact on the City of Dowagiac and will be greatly missed for years to come.

IN SPECIAL TRIBUTE, therefore this document is signed and dedicated to Clerk Jim Snow. May he know of our admiration for his dedication and service to our community and may he enjoy a long and restful retirement”
