Library seeking new company to manage site

Regular users of the Niles District Library’s website might have noticed some changes when they logged on earlier this week.

As of Monday, the library website’s homepage — nileslibrary.net — announced that the site itself is currently under construction.

It won’t be too long before the site is back to normal, according to library director Nancy Studebaker.

“We would certainly hope to have something new up within a few months,” she said.

In the meantime, Studebaker said people can still access the website and most of its functions, including E-book, library events, catalog, tax forms and assistance and board documents, among others.

“The website isn’t down,” she said. “You can still go to the website and get the answers to 90 percent of the questions that people go to our website for.”

If users are not able to access a function on the website they used to have access to, Studebaker suggests they call the library at (269) 683-0075 or visit the library, located at 620 E. Main St., Niles.

Studebaker said the website looks the way it does because the board of directors decided not to renew its contract with the website provider.

The library is currently looking for a new website provider and is taking requests for proposals through the website.
