Undefeated Kalamazoo Central steamrolls Niles

KALAMAZOO — There is a reason why Kalamazoo Central is undefeated and the visiting Niles Vikings found out the hard way why Tuesday night.

The Maroon Giants poured in 49 points in the opening half on its way to an 83-42 SMAC non-divisional boys basketball victory.

The Vikings (3-7) trailed 25-6 after one quarter and 49-18 by halftime.

Kalamazoo Central (12-0) led by 40 (75-34) heading to the final quarter.

Devon Daniels had a game-high 26 points to lead the Maroon Giants, who also got 13 points from Hunter Hale and 10 points from Orlando Little.

Gabe Stokes led the Vikings with 13 points. Jake Hamm added nine.
