Gail Confer, 63, of Dowagiac, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at home.

Gail was born April 2, 1951, in Watervliet, the daughter of David E. and Joyce (O’Neil) Clayton. She married Kenneth W. Confer on Aug. 9, 1969, in Grand Rapids, and he preceded her in death March 10, 2011.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Joyce Gant and two brothers, Ronnie and Steve Clayton.

Survivors include a daughter Christina (Aaron) Baldwin, of Eureka, California, a son, Malcom (Amy) Confer, of Decatur, six grandchildren, one great-grandson; five sisters Cathy (Larry) Burgess, of Mt. Home, Arkansas; Pam (Joe) Swift of Mt. Home, Arkansas; Pat Miracle of Dowagiac; Mary Miller, of Niles; Cherry Anne Clayton of Kalamazoo; and three brothers, Roger (Karen) Clayton, of Mt. Home, Arkansas; Robert Clayton and Bobby (Heather) Clayton, both of Niles. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
