Nathaniel Anthony Whitelow, Jr., 17, of Niles, Michigan died at 7:38 a.m. Jan. 19, at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles unexpectedly, but of natural causes.

He was born on June 1, 1997 in Niles to Nathaniel Anthony Whitelow, Sr. and Tammy Marie Frantz. He first attended the Northside Child Development Center of Niles Community Schools, and then has been a student of the Blossomland Learning Center of Berrien RESA.

“Naters” attended services and other activities at the Friends in Faith Community Church in Eau Claire, Michigan. He enjoyed baseball, travelling to the games his brothers played at throughout the region, and attending minor league games at Coveleski Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. He also enjoyed music of all styles, and every chance he had to go swimming.

Surviving family includes his parents, Tammy Frantz and Nathaniel Whitelow, Sr., both of Niles; brothers Kendall Whitelow and Antwone Whitelow both of Niles; grandparents Kathy (David) Daughtry of Niles and Sandra Frantz of Niles; aunts Crystal Frantz, April Sanders, Elizabeth Martin, Sonya Frantz, Annie Frantz and uncles Eric Whitelow, Jeff Martin David Frantz, and Terry Frantz; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Robert Frantz.

The funeral service for Nathaniel Whitelow, Jr. will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Friends in Faith Community Church with Pastor Tom Spitters officiating. Committal will follow at Mission Hills.

The family will receive relatives and friends Friday at the church beginning at Noon. Contributions in memory of Naters may be made to the Blossomland Learning Center. Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
