Sly, of Niles, entered the game five points shy of the milestone and scored five points in the opening half to reach the mark.

South Bend trailed 33-13 with 9:24 left to play in the half when a jumper from Maegan Callaway (SR/Mooresville, Indiana) sparked a 12-2 run to bring the Titans within 12 points of the Saint Xavier lead.

The No. 4-ranked Cougars had the hot hand from long distance for the first ten minutes of the opening half as they connected on their first five attempts. However, the Cougars went cold as they missed their final six three point shots of the first half.

Callaway netted the final seven points of the half for the Titans to send IU South Bend into the locker room trailing 48-32. The senior center finished with 14 points in the first 20 minutes on 4-of-8 shooting including a perfect 2 for 2 from the arc and 4 for 4 from the free throw line.

The Titan defense did not have an answer for the high-powered Saint Xavier offense as IU South Bend fell behind by 30 at the 13 minute mark and they could never recover as the Cougars kept pouring it on.

Callaway could not get going in the second half as she scored just four points for a team-high 18 for the game.

Up next for the Titans will be Trinity International University on Wednesday evening. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
