Niles opens new year with win over Three Rivers

THREE RIVERS — Libby Moody scored 10 points to help lead the Niles girls basketball team to a 37-27 win over Three Rivers Saturday night.

The Vikings (4-2) led 11-2 after one quarter and 26-10 at halftime.

The Wildcats (2-3) staged a second half comeback, outscoring Niles 17-11, but could not overcome the early deficit.

Jazmin Brann added seven points for the Vikings, who are back in action against Portage Central on Friday.

Alexis Herbert had eight points to lead Three Rivers.
