Katherine R. Clark, 86 years old of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest Dec. 24, 2014, at Lakeland Medical Center, Niles, after an illness. She was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Dowagiac, the daughter of Adam P. and Hazel Dell (Wallace) Feirick. She has lived in the Edwardsburg area since 1956, coming from South Bend. She was a licensed beautician and cosmetologist for several years. Her education was having one year of college and she enjoyed life the most when she was helping others, whether just being a friend, a neighbor, or helping with some of their health problems.

Katherine was first married Aug. 14, 1948 in South Bend to Charles C. Walton, and he passed in 1982. She was then married to Charles R. Clark and he passed in 1995. Surviving are her step-children; Jonne Anders of Cassopolis, Diane (Stephen) Horvath of Niles, Charles Clark of Bristol and Dennis (Sue) Clark of Niles. There are numerous step grandchildren and step-great- grandchildren. Also, surviving is a nephew, who along with his wife were Katherine’s caregivers, David and Judy Feirick of Niles, as well as many other nieces and nephews, who also helped in her care giving. There are two surviving sisters, Ellanore Crispon of Florida and Dorothy Laine of Lebanon, Tennessee.

Family who have passed, besides her parents and her two husbands are her son Donald and his wife, and her siblings, Helen Feirick, Pauline Opelt, Elroy Feirick, Maurice Feirick, George Feirick, Max Feirick, Stanford Feirick, Richard Feirick and Otis Feirick.

Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. in the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St. (US-12), Edwardsburg. The Service of Remembrance will be Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with visitation for one hour before the service. Interment will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, M-51, north of Niles. Officiating will be Dr. Rev. Thaddeus Stout. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to, Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
