Salvation Army seeking volunteers

The Salvation Army of Niles is in need of volunteers to help run its Toy Shop program this week.

Volunteers will help check people in, hand out turkeys and assist families in helping pick out toys for their children.

“It is a great way to get out and help people,” said Scott Lolmaugh, volunteer coordinator for the Salvation Army.

People don’t have to stay the whole time and can volunteer for as many hours as they would like.

The Toy Shop will take place Wednesday through Saturday at the Salvation Army, located at 424 N. 15th St., Niles.Volunteers are needed on the following dates and times:

Wednesday, Dec. 17 — 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 18 — noon to 8 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 19 — 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 20 — 7:30 a.m. to noon

Anyone interested in volunteering should call Lolmaugh at (269) 684-2660. Volunteers are also needed for bell ringing.
