Edward T. Neumann, 72 of Dowagiac, died at home on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. He was born Oct. 6, 1942, to Frederick and Mildred (Regan) Neumann in Dowagiac.

He was a graduate of Dowagiac Union High School in 1962. He then attended trade school in Chicago for refrigeration technician. He married Cheryl Phelps on Jan. 4, 1964, in Dowagiac. They raised four children and were the former owners of Top of the Line Laundromat in Decatur.

After retiring from the refrigeration business of 50 plus years he enjoyed traveling with his wife, seeing the country and enjoying life. He is survived by his fiancé, Donna White of Grand Rapids; four children: Todd (Nicole) Neumann of Allendale, Lisa (Russell) Gonder of Jones, Michael E. Neumann and James E. Neumann of Dowagiac. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ed also is survived by a brother, Fred (Shirley) Neumann of Dowagiac and Marlene (Gregory) School of Las
Vegas, Nevada.

Friends of Ed may wish to join his family for a Celebration of Life Service which will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19th, 2014, at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, Michigan. Father Kevin Covert of Holy Maternity Catholic Church in Dowagiac will be the celebrant. Memorial Contributions can be made to the family, c/o Todd Neumann. Following his Celebration of Life service the family invites those attending to join them at the Dowagiac Lions Club on Blue Bird Lane where a meal will be served and stories of Ed’s life can be shared.
