Cassopolis routs Bronson 78-51

BRONSON — Visiting Cassopolis rebounded from its season opening loss to hand Bronson a 78-51 boys basketball loss Thursday night.

The Rangers’ outscored the Vikings 44-22 in the opening half to earn its inaugural BCS Athletic Conference East Division victory and square its overall record at 1-1.

Bronson falls to 0-2 on the season.

After grabbed a 20-13 first quarter advantage, the Rangers outscored the Vikings 24-9 in the second quarter to open up the 22-point halftime advantage.

Cassopolis took a 61-39 lead into the final quarter.

Brandon Glover scored a game-high 20 points for the Rangers, who also got 12 points from Bryce Saxton and 11 points from Dion Gatson.

Erik Toledo led the Vikings with 10 points.

Cassopolis shot 58 percent from the field, including 41 percent (3-of-5) from 3-point range.

Bronson shot 35 percent from the floor.

The two teams combined for 35 turnovers, while the Rangers held a 32-31 advantage on the boards.
