For half a century, the Edwardsburg Lions Club has sold Christmas trees to the community.

This year will be no different.

The Lions Club has set up its trees in the H&R Block parking lot on US-12. The trees were delivered the day after Thanksgiving.

Lions Club members and some Leos helped unload the semi, which was full of evergreen trees. Scotch and Frasier Fir are available from five- to 14-feet.

“The quality of the Christmas trees are exceptional and the Lions Club is proud to offer live Christmas trees to our community,” Lions Club President Tanda Stiffler said. “This is one of the largest fundraisers the club takes on to do the many projects offered to the community such as helping with eyeglasses, appointments, white canes, leader dogs, handicap ramps, community food pantry and honoring two graduating Edwardsburg High School students with scholarships.”

Hours are weekdays until 7 p.m. with extended hours on the weekends.

The Lions Club is also selling Michigan’s Pure Maple Syrup as a fundraiser.

Syrup can be purchased at the Christmas tree lot or by contacting any Lions Club member. Syrup is available in pints or quarts.
