Charles A. Taylor, 62, of Niles, passed away at his home on Dec. 1, 2014 after an extended Illness.

Charles was born on Jan. 12, 1952 to the late Homer and Josephine (Seats) Taylor in St. Louis, Missouri where he was the fifth of seven children.

After graduating from Brandywine High School Charles wed Rita Taylor-Mallard; they were married for 14 years and had one son. Charles gave his life to Christ at an early age while at Bertrand Bible Church. In 1972 Charles went to work for Niles Precision and retired as a Machinist in 2012 due to his health. His favorite times were spent at Sunday dinners at his mother’s house with his family gathered around the table. He was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears fan. Charles also liked bowling, antique cars and spending time outdoors at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Josephine Taylor and siblings Richard Taylor, Donald Taylor and Diane Wiley.

Charles is survived by his son Dwayne Taylor of Elkhart, Indiana; siblings, Malcom (Sondra) Taylor of St. Louis, Missouri, Carolyn Gary of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Wildray Taylor of Niles; grandchildren, Dejah Arnold of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Tamantha Wolfe-Taylor of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters-in-law, Margaret Taylor and Ernestine Taylor; brother-in-law, Jeff Wiley, the wonderful Lakeland Home Care and very special friends Dan and Barbara Bradley.

Funeral services for Charles will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Niles at 11 a.m. with a time of visitation one-hour prior.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Niles.
