When comparing millage rates against those of neighboring school districts, Niles Community Schools is currently levying the least amount of taxes in the area.

According to information provided by TMP Architecture, Niles Community Schools’ total sinking fund and bond debt is set at 1 mill.

If voters approve the first bond proposal (2.89 mills) this spring, it would raise the debt to just under 4 mills. If the first and second (1.0 mill) bond proposals are approved, the bond debt would jump just under 5 mills.

Accompanied is a chart showing the millage rate of Niles and neighboring districts.
