Shirley Grochow

Shirley was born July 8, 1931, in Buffalo, New York to Charles and Marie (Lutz) Ebert. Following high school she continued her education at the Deaconess where she received her Registered Nursing degree. Shirley was a very dedicated nurse, working with Dr. Wierman for more than 20 years. She had a strong faith in God and there is no doubt that he welcomed her with open arms. Shirley’s greatest treasure was her family. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren, but probably most of all by her husband of 62 years, Richard. Shirley was the “love of his life”. She was very active with the local council on aging, the Dowagiac Garden Club and a longtime member of the Peggerette’s, also known as the Christian Women’s Fellowship at the Federated Church.

Shirley leaves to treasure her memory; her husband Richard, her children; Debra (Charles) Martin of Cassopolis, Margaret M. Grochow of Dowagiac, Christine A. Grochow of South Bend, David C. (Denise) Grochow of Benton Harbor, three grandchildren; Adam Grochow, Miranda Lebold and Melanie Grochow, one great grandchild Emersyn Lebold. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Charles Ebert and a sister Catherine Koerner.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Federated Covenant Church or the Haiti Nursing Fund. Those wishing to sign Shirley’s memory book and leave a condolence may do so at www.clarkch.com.
