Shirley Ann Lillie, 77, of Dowagiac, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at The Timbers of Cass County.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, November 24, 2014, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, Michigan. Burial, with a Celebration of Life Service, will be held at South Wayne Cemetery after the gathering.

Shirley was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Decatur, Michigan to her parents Ben and Katherine (Goodrich) Cook. She met and married the love of her life, Junior Carson Lillie, Aug. 28, 1957, in Lawton, Michigan.

Shirley loved being with her favorite dog “Duke.” She was an Elvis fan, enjoyed yard shopping, flea markets, knitting and crocheting. Recently she had a fancy for watching NASCAR racing, football and baseball games.

She is survived by her son Terry Lillie and daughter Sandra Lillie, both of Dowagiac; three grandchildren, Theresa, Amy and Kevin; three brothers, Junior Cook of Decatur, Wesley Cook of Kalamazoo and Jack (Adelila) Cook of Marcellus; one sister Kathryn Flowers; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded by her parents, husband, and a brother Bill Alan Cook.
