Hartline named All-MIAA

FREELAND — The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced its 2014 All-MIAA football team.

Trine quarterback Taylor Masiewicz, who led the MIAA in total offense with 288 yards per game passing and rushing in conference play, has been named Offensive Most Valuable Player in the vote conducted by the conference’s coaches.

Olivet defensive lineman Ryan Armstrong, who led the MIAA in tackles for loss with 16.5 and tied for first in sacks with 8.5 against conference opponents, was named Defensive Most Valuable Player.

Alma offensive lineman Blake Padget was named the recipient of the Pete Schmidt Memorial Scholar-Athlete Award, presented in honor of the late Albion football coach who led the Britons to an MIAA record-tying nine championships from 1983-96 and an NCAA Division III national championship in 1994.
