A good deed

On Tuesday, I had to have two watch batteries changed.

I called Paul’s Fine Jewelry in Niles where I have done business before. Paul said he was open between noon and 5 p.m. I left for work a little early to drop off the watches and was told it would cost $7 a piece to change the batteries, which would have brought the total to $14. I figured I would have to go down again the next day to pick up the watches.

When I showed up to drop off the watches I was wearing my Navy ball cap. Paul asked if I was a veteran and I told him I was. He said watch batteries were free for veterans and he changed both in a matter of about five minutes totally free. I was shocked and told him thanks.

I left there in less than five minutes with two free watch batteries. Also, I did not have to go back the next day to pick up the watches.

Not too many businesses treat their customers like this anymore.

Way to go Paul. Good Job. You have restored my faith.

Good business practice is alive and well in downtown Niles. Again, Paul’s Fine Jewelry is a great place to go for all your watch batteries and jewelry repair.
