A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, from noon to 2 p.m. at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac.

Robert was born April 7, 1946 in Three Rivers to his parents, Wayne and Patricia (Griswald) Haas. Robert served three years in the United States Navy serving as a Sea Bees engineer. On March 15, 1968, he married Katherine Myers in Dowagiac. Together, they raised three children. Robert and Katherine began their own business, Haas Systems, in 1980, of which he was the owner manager for 25 years until his retirement. Robert was known as a hardworking man who could often be found tinkering with electronics. He never wanted to throw anything away knowing it could be fixed or that he might just need it someday. Robert enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was never idle for very long knowing there was always something that needed to be done.

Robert is survived by his children, Eric (Anita) Haas of Dowagiac, Julia(Ravi) Sharma of Ludington and Sarah Haas of Ash Fork, Arizona; five grandchildren, Bradley, Brenden, Bailey and Brady Haas, and Annika Sharma; and one great-grandchild, Meeghan Haas. He is also survived by his siblings, George Haas, Norma Sweet, Dan Haas and Linda Wing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Katherine; and brothers Larry and Thomas.

Memorials may be made to a veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice in his memory. Please take the opportunity to sign his guestbook and share a memory of Robert at www.clarkch.com
