The new Cassopolis Family Clinic opened its door to patients Monday, but the community will get a first-hand look at the new facility on M-62 when it holds an open house Nov. 12.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. with guest speakers including Board of Directors President Robert Feldman, Executive Director Mary Middleton and Matt Lori, R-Sturgis.

“We are not only celebrating what this health center means to the community, but also celebrating our 50th anniversary,” said Rose Middleton, marketing coordinator. “We were founded in 1964. We are very excited to show the community what we have for them.”

Tours of the 30,000-square-foot facility will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

The ribbon cutting will be held on the second level in the community room.

Ground was broken on the project in 2013.

Cassopolis Family Clinic has raised nearly $1 million for completion of the new facility and had actually raised 75 percent of that goal prior to the public phase, which started last month.

Among the donors were K&M in Cassopolis, which gave $150,000 to the project.

The Cassopolis Family Clinic saved $350,000 of its own money to put forth into the project.

Additional donors will be announced at the ribbon cutting.

“Mary has always been raised that if you work hard for something, you have to put forth in order to make something work,” Middleton said. “To show people that this is worth it. So the clinic has save money over the years and put money in reserve.”

The staff is extremely excited, according to Middleton, for not only moving into a new building, but to be going from 9,400 square feet to 30,000 square feet. The reason for their excitement is the fact that they will now be able to serve even more patients.

The clinic is also excited to be able to offer mental health and dental services to their patients.

“Our new facility will be wonderful,” Middleton said. “Upstairs we an administrative conference room, which will be for our boards or private meetings. We also have a 120-chair room that the community can use and we can hold classes for our patience.”

The new facility will also house a pharmacy with a drive-thru window that can be used by the patience of the Cassopolis Family Clinic.
