Three positions on the Southwestern Michigan College Board of Trustees are up for grabs on Tuesday.

Four candidates are vying for the positions, including incumbents Paul File, Becky Moore and Treasurer Thomas Jerdon. Also running is David Taylor.

Both File, of Cassopolis, and Jerdon, of Dowagiac, were elected to six-year terms during the general election of 2008. Moore, also of Cassopolis, was appointed to serve by the board in 2012, after member Eric Coles resigned from his position.

Taylor, a resident of Ontwa Township, was a Cass County commissioner for nine years and a member of the Edwardsburg School Board for four years. His background is as an attorney, CPA and in business.

The winners on Tuesday will serve alongside current members Beth Cripe, Secretary William White, vice-chair Keith McKenzie and chair Fred Mathews.

Members of the Southwestern Michigan College Board of Trustees serve six-year terms in office. They receive no financial compensation for their service.
