Donald ‘Don’ A. Roehm, 60, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, in Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo.

Don was born Jan. 28, 1954, in Kalamazoo, the son of George and Eula (Griffith) Roehm. He was a delivery driver and service technician for 30 years in the propane business and was founder and CEO of Dandy Don’s Famous Babecue.

He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur and was a member and past president of the men’s auxiliary to VFW Celery City Post No. 6248 in Decatur.

He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors at his home up north at Nugent Lake, and he loved his grandchildren very much.

He married Suzie Goodrich Sept. 18, 2010, in Decatur, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Matthew John Roehm of Vicksburg, Mark (Kelli) Roehm of Lawton; five grandchildren: Brendan, Connor, Gavin, Rylie and Brady; his mother, Eula Roehm, of Lawton; a brother, Phillip (Kimberle) Rohem, of South Haven; half brother George Roehm and half sister Fran (Turk) Jackson, both of New Orleans.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at 4 p.m. in the VFW Decatur with Rev. Will Christians and Mr. James Abshagen officiating.

Memorials may be made to the VFW Endowment Fund or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
