COA offers holiday craft

If you have ever wanted to make your own Christmas gifts but don’t know how, the Cass County COA has a class for you.

Instructor Nicole Romo will guide visitors step-by-step to help you create holiday craft items that they can give as gifts or keep for themselves. Two craft lessons will be offered at each class.

The classes are offered at both COA locations. Front Street Crossing in Dowagiac will hold them on Thursday, Nov. 6 and 20 from 10 a.m. to noon.  The Lowe Center will offer classes on Monday, Nov. 10 and 24 from 1–3 p.m.  There is a nominal fee of $5 per craft to cover supplies and materials. Attending both classes at each location will allow you to make a total of four items.

“November is early enough to work on these projects and end up with four very lovely items that you can give as gifts,” said Nicole Romo, the COA’s Lifelong Learning Manager. “The items will be themed for the holidays, and when an item is homemade it adds a special significance to a gift. We hope that we will have many come and join us. We will be playing holiday music to help everyone get in the mood.”

The Cass County COA Front Street Crossing is located at 227 S. Front St.; Dowagiac, MI 49047 and the Lowe Center is at 60525 Decatur Rd; Cassopolis, MI  49031.  Please call (269) 445-8110 to help ensure that enough materials and supplies are on hand.
