Marvin Glenn Mitchell, 58, of Cassopolis, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, in Lakeland Hospital in Niles.

Marvin was born September 24, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to Marvin George and Frances Louise (Gray) Mitchell. His parents preceded him in death.

Marvin was a very passionate Ohio State fan. He loved NASCAR, especially Rusty Wallace. Marvin was an avid woodcrafter. He served in the U.S. Army, working in the Armory. Marvin worked on industrial sewing machines.

Marvin will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by three children, Matthew Mitchell, Marissa (fiancé Joshua Mitchell) Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, all of South Bend; three step children, Marybeth (Robert) Arnold of Lakeville, Indiana, April (Chris Olinger) Kwiatkowski and James R. Kwiatkowski, both of South Bend, Indiana; two grandchildren, Mariah Mitchell, Mya Mitchell; five step grandchildren, Riley Kwiatkowski, Heaylyn Kwiatkowski, London Kwiatkowski, Jameson Kwiatkowski, Caleb Arnold; one sister, Debbie (David) Leddingham of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Michael Guy Mitchell of Columbus, Ohio, Mitchell G. Mitchell of Cassopolis; and a host of nieces, nephews great nieces and great nephews.

The family will observe a private remembrance. Mr. Mitchell’s remains will be laid to rest in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek, when he will be accorded full Military Honors.

The family prefers contributions be made in Marvin’s memory to the family.
