Bette Marie Hoffman, 90, residing in Mishawaka and formerly of Niles, passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 of natural causes in her home. She was born May 7, 1924 in Niles to the late John and Agnes (Johnson) Monehan and was a lifelong Michiana area resident.

Bette was a graduate of the Niles High School Class of 1942 and was a member of St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church in South Bend. She retired as an administrative assistant in the administration building from the University of Notre Dame.

Bette is survived by her daughter, Victoria A. (Michael) Ross of Granger; sons, Jerry (Rosemary) Hoffman of South Bend and Kipp Hoffman of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Linsey (Quentin) Gibson, Kylie Ross, Nicola Hoffman, Marshall Hoffman, Ryan Putz, Sheena (Jason) Jacobs, Brittni Hoffman and Chelsea Hoffman; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Richard Hoffman; brother, Jerry Monehan; and three half-brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 in St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 Ironwood Road, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to mass in the church on Saturday.
