Eddies win second straight West title

COLOMA — A 41 point first half left no doubt that visiting Edwardsburg was going to win its second straight Wolverine Conference West Division championship Friday night.

The Eddies cruised to a 54-6 win over Coloma to finish the regular season 8-1 and 5-0 in the West Division.

Dustin Vires ran for 130 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Eddies.

Vires scored on runs of 47, 11 and 50 yards.

Edward Mozader added 96 yards as Edwardsburg finished with 464 yards rushing and 515 yards of total offense.

The Eddies held the Comets (1-8, 0-5) to 19 yards rushing and 104 yards of total offense.

Ben Robertson had eight tackles for Edwardsburg and Devon McGrath seven.
