With little more than a week before the start of the MHSAA volleyball tournament, teams are beginning to tune up for the post season.

Most teams only have one or two regular season dates before competing in conference tournaments next weekend.

The following Monday, the state tournament begins for Niles and Brandywine.

Class A at Portage Central

The Vikings, who will compete in the Class A District at Portage Central, will host a first round game on Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Niles will face Portage Northern with the winner advancing to take on the winner of the Mattawan-St. Joseph match on Nov. 6 at Portage Central.

The championship match will be played at Portage Central at 10 a.m. on Nov. 8.

Class C at Cassopolis

The Rangers are hosting the district tournament this year.

Cassopolis faces a tough test right off the bat as they take on BCS Athletic Conference foe Brandywine on Nov. 3.

The Bobcats and Rangers will square off at 7 p.m. on Nov. 3, with the winner advancing to face Bridgman at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5.

In the other half of the bracket, Eau Claire and Bridgman will face each other in the opening round at 5 p.m. on Nov. 3.

The winner advances to face New Buffalo, which received a first-round bye, at 5 p.m. on Nov. 5.

The championship match is set for 7 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Tickets are $5 per person and no passes will be accepted.
