Registration is now open for the 33rd Annual Niles-Buchanan YMCA Thanksgiving Day Run.

This year, the Thanksgiving Day Run will offer a 10K and 5k run/walk and a one-mile Family Fun Run. With more than 2,300 participants from over 24 states, the Niles-Buchanan YMCA Thanksgiving Day run is among the largest in the Michiana area.

The Niles-Buchanan YMCA would like to thank Chemical Bank for being the Prime Sponsor for this event. All proceeds from the Thanksgiving Day Run benefit the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign; an annual fundraising campaign focused on raising much needed resources to support the YMCA programs that give area children the opportunities they need to reach their full potential and to live a healthier, happier lives today and grow into productive adults in the future.

Supporting the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign directly helps children, teens, and young adults in our community.

“We have an amazing opportunity to make a difference in our community,” said Mark Weber, CEO. “It might be something as simple as teaching a child how to swim, or help someone find a path to a healthier lifestyle, or helping a teenager gain self confidence. Your generous donation helps the Niles-Buchanan Y ensure the youth and families in our communities have access to programs that promote healthier and more productive lives, regardless of their background or financial situation. Last year, the Strong Kids Campaign raised over $170,000 to support scholarships and programming for over 1,700 children and families in the Niles-Buchanan community.”

The Main Street Bridge will be under construction the day of the race.

A new race route has been developed with the help and guidance of the Niles Police Department and Street Department. The new race routes are listed on the YMCA’s website at nbymca.com.
