The Dowagiac volleyball team got some good news when the Class B District Volleyball Tournament pairings were announced.

Not only are the Chieftains hosting the tournament, but Dowagiac got a great draw by receiving a first-round bye and then facing Wolverine Conference West Division foe Coloma, a team the Chieftains beat during the regular season.

Dowagiac and Coloma will play in the semifinals at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5, with the winner advancing to the championship match at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Buchanan and Benton Harbor will open up the tournament on Monday, Nov. 3.

The Bucks, who come into the tournament as the favorite, will take on the Tigers at 6 p.m.

The winner of that match advances to the Wednesday semifinal against Berrien Springs.

That match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person and no passes will be accepted.
