Mike Moroz will make us proud

I urge your readers to vote for Mike Moroz as their next 59th District State Representative. The district covers all of St. Joseph County and most of Cass County.

Mike Moroz has broad, practical, real-world experience in business and industry and is an active small business owner.

He supports better funding for K-12 education, a sound current and long-term program for restoring Michigan’s deteriorating highways and bridges (now ranked 50th in the country) and protection of Michigan’s environment on their own merit but also because they are essential to attracting new businesses and encouraging existing businesses to expand and grow, resulting in more good-paying jobs for Michigan families.

Mike Moroz supports ready availability of health care for all of Michigan’s people. That’s why he favored Michigan’s Medicaid expansion — which has opened the door to the many poor and working poor and their children who had previously tried to “make do” and survive despite not being able to afford health insurance.

People learn better and work more productively if they are healthy and have ready access to medical and hospital care when they are ill. That’s a positive use of government to do good things for people who do not have the money and resources to do it alone.

While Mike Moroz’s opponent opposes Michigan’s Medicaid expansion on the grounds that it’s not specifically mentioned in the United States Constitution, he has ignored or overlooked the fact that the same founding document provides that one of the principal purposes of our government is to “…promote the general Welfare…” of the people.

Please vote for Mike Moroz. He’ll make you proud that you did!
