Lions host successful chili supper

The Dowagiac Lions Club would like to thank everyone who attended the chili supper held prior to the Dowagiac-Edwardsburg football game on Oct. 10. More than $600 was raised for student scholarships.

The chili supper before Dowagiac’s last home football game has been a tradition in our community for over 30 years and has been sponsored by the Dowagiac Lions Club for the past three years.

Our thanks go to our Lions Club members and their spouses for all their hard work in putting on this supper, as well as the Dowagiac Union Schools for allowing us to use the kitchen and cafeteria facilities.

A special thank you goes to volunteers Dawn and Dennis Springman, and Amanda Verity (Cub Scout Leader) and her son, Zachary Verity (Bear Scout).  These volunteers worked at both the chili supper and the fly-In.

Sodexo employees Kelly Prak, assistant manager, and Karen Sanders, cook, helped us to order supplies and set up for the meal.
