Norman R. Curran, of Niles

Norman R. Curran, 73, of Niles, passed away on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Indiana, following a brief illness.

He was born on May 3, 1941, in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Raymond H. and Virginia C. (Seager) Curran.

After graduating from high school, Norm worked as a mechanic. He retired after many years of service with Old Dominion Truck Leasing. On April 25, 1964, Norm married Judy A. Alford at a ceremony in Niles. He enjoyed collecting trains, model cars and trucks and loved going for rides in his Corvette.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary Alice Wise.

Norman is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Curran of Niles; three sons, Tye (Jodi) Curran of Niles, Todd (Debbie) Curran of Niles and Timothy (Elizabeth) Curran of Vandalia; two grandsons, Tyler and Austin; three step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ronald Curran of Mishawaka, Benard (Cheryl) Curran of Niles, Edward Curran of Mishawaka and John (Kelly) Curran of Niles; four sisters, Barbara (Charles) Gibson of Dukedom, Tennessee, Patricia (Raymond) Cherrone of Roseland, Indiana, Shirley Curran and Susan Curran both of Niles as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made in Norman’s memory to the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be provided at Mission Hills Chapel.
