Shirley Lorraine Ross, 93, of Niles, passed away at Westwoods of Niles on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014.

Shirley was born on April 25, 1921 to Fred and Meta Butt in Chicago, Illinois.

Shirley wed Thomas Ross at a ceremony in Chicago, Illinois and the two had one son, Donald. Shirley was a waitress at Pete’s Patio for many years and enjoyed her time there and loved socializing with her customers. Shirley was very family oriented and enjoyed every minute of her time with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Meta; husband, Thomas Ross; and son Donald Ross.

Shirley is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dianne Ross of Buchanan and granddaughters Linsey Ross of Buchanan and Emily Ross of Niles.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Association in memory of her son Don Ross at PO Box 6051; Albert Lea, MN 56007.
