Lifelong Republican voting for Moroz

Thank you for the opportunity to express my views on the Michigan State House race for the 59th District, which covers St. Joseph and Cass Counties.

First, let me state that I am a lifelong Republican, with many of the tradition Republican views on government and the relationship with the governed.

This year the people of the Michigan 59th State House District have a real choice. You need to check out what each of the candidates believe and the things they support and how they intend to make things happen in Lansing.

This year I will be splitting my ticket and voting for Mike Moroz.

Mike is a small business owner who understands the challenges that small businesses face, everyday. Mike is a hunter and gun owner, who believes in enforcing our current laws. Mike supports the rights of all people to make their own medical decisions. Mike will work with members of both political parties to find the best ways to represent the interests of the citizens of Cass and St. Joseph counties. Mike supports K-12 public education and believes that uniform standards need to be met that will make sure our children are prepared to compete in this highly competitive job market.

He also believes that the state needs to participate in seeing that all school districts are adequately funded. Mike is a supporter of the community college system that provides affordable higher education and trade skill training and retraining to see that the residence of St. Joseph and Cass county have the skills to do the jobs that are currently available and for the future.

Mike also believes in being involved in his local community, in that area — among many things — he is actively involved in the preservation of the Underground Railroad project in Vandalia.

I encourage you to look at both candidates and what they believe in and what they want to do to represent you and I in Lansing.

If you do that — I am confident that you will agree that Mike Moroz is the best choice for State Representative, District 59.
