Rhonda Kay Weiser, 49, of Niles, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014.

She was born on March 31, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Ronald Ashley and Phyllis Shaner.

At a ceremony in Niles, Michigan on June 30, 1990, Rhonda married John Weiser.

She is preceded by her parents and one brother, Ronald Ashley.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, John, her son, Joseph (Amy) Weiser, of South Bend, Indiana her grandson, Marshal Weiser, and three brothers; Bruce Ashley, of Florida, Carl Ashley of Manastee, Michigan, and Ross Ashley of Dowagiac, Michigan.

Those who knew Rhonda, would describe her first and foremost as an overcomer. She never let any diagnosis keep her from enjoying life to its fullest. She was a faithful member of Sumnerville Baptist Church where she was involved in many areas and was always ready to volunteer to serve in any capacity needed. She was truly a selfless person and found great happiness in doing for others. Rhonda also loved the outdoors, but most of all her greatest source of happiness was her family.

In keeping with Rhonda’s selfless personality, her wishes to have her body donated to science have been fulfilled by her family and they will be holding a memorial service on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at Sumnerville Bible Baptist Church at 5:30 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning at 4 p.m.
