Under the Harvest Moon

Published 8:44 am Thursday, October 9, 2014

As the leaves begin to fall and the temperatures begin to slowly cool this week, Mother Nature itself seems to be welcoming Saturday’s annual fall festival with open arms.

The fourth annual Under the Harvest Moon Festival will again take over downtown Dowagiac this weekend, offering a deluge of autumn-themed activities to visitors. The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and run until 4 p.m.

Among the highlights of this year’s festival will be the vintage farm tractor show, which will be located on the north end of Front Street. Over a dozen vintage and modern farm tractors will be display, provided by members of the Michiana Two-Cylinder Club and Dowagiac’s Ausra Equipment.

Some live entertainment is also lined up for Saturday at the Beckwith Park gazebo, including a musical performance from South Bend’s The Van Dyke Revue.

Vendors with the Dowagiac Farmers and Artisan Market will also relocated for the morning from their usual location on the lawn of Dowagiac Area History Museum to Front Street. Over 50 vendors and exhibitors will have booths set up for the day, offering everything from produce, baked goods, crafts, antiques and more.
