Eunice Cosey

Eunice Cosey, 78, of Dowagiac, went to her eternal rest on Monday afternoon, September 29th, 2014, at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, with her loving family at her side.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1936, in Bainbridge, Georgia.

In 1953 Eunice married Andrew Cosey Sr. at a ceremony in Niles, Michigan.

Eunice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for over 32 years at ICG and when most people would retire, Eunice wanted to stay active. She was currently employed, for the last 10 years, at Dowagiac Middle School where she worked in food service. Mrs. Cosey enjoyed her interactions with both students and co-workers. She was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Dowagiac. She enjoyed spending time working in her yard and was known by her grandchildren for making the best macaroni and cheese. Time spent with family and friends were most valuable to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ozylee and Julia (Anderson) Fox, her husband Andrew Cosey Sr. in 2007, a daughter Shirley Ross and a son Tony Cosey.

Eunice leaves to cherish her children; Michael (Bonita) Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia, Marcia Bishop of Dowagiac, Kevin Cosey of Atlanta, Georgia and Andrew Cosey of Dowagiac, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by the countless family members and friends whose life she touched.

Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at noon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Niles with Pastor Bryant L. Bacon, Sr. officiating. A time of visitation will begin on hour prior. Mrs. Cosey will be laid to rest next to her husband at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac.
