Jay Jack Anderson, 60, formerly of Dowagiac, died at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Jay was born Sept. 18, 1954. He graduated from Dowagiac Union High School. Jay worked as a millwright at ICG in Dowagiac for over 25 years. He loved having fun and enjoyed the simple life. He enjoyed spending time with his five grandchildren and had intended on taking them to South Dakota next year to pan for gold.

Jay is survived by his fiancé, Jodi Wade, his daughter Christie (John) Brown of Eau Clair; and one sister, Valerie (Charles) Gilfeather of Saginaw, Michigan; and one brother, Eric (Barb) Anderson of Sister Lakes. He was also the grandfather of five grandchildren who he loved dearly.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, Oct. 2 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Clark Chapel, 405 Center Street, Dowagiac. A private family burial will take place at a later date at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Clark Chapel & Cremation Services is serving the family.
