Brandywine gains share of KVA/BCS tennis title

KALAMAZOO — A trio of teams shared the Kalamazoo Valley Association and BCS Athletic Conference tennis title — including Brandywine and Kalamazoo Christian.

Both teams wrapped up their conference schedules by settling for a 4-4 tie.

The Comets won three out of the four single flights, while the Bobcats took three out of four doubles flights.

Brandywine (5-2-3, 4-0-2 KVA/BCS) earned the split when Austin Balos defeated Luke Van Elderen 6-4 and 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

Kalamazoo Hackett was the third team to share the regular season championship.

The conference tournament will be held at Kalamazoo College on Saturday.
