Diane Biek, 66, of Benton Harbor, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014.

Private family Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date. Friends may visit with the family from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Diane was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Benton Harbor to Eugene & Lilly (Dahlstrom) Brant. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School and from Lake Michigan College with a degree in Dental Technology. In October of 1971, she married Leland Biek in Benton Harbor. Diane was Professor Emeritus at Lake Michigan College where she taught in the dental program. She retired in 2013 after 10 years with Van Buren County Department of Human Services. Diane was a member of St. Joseph-Benton Harbor Elks Lodge. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and cherished the time spent with her friends and family.

Diane is survived by her husband Leland; two sons, Nathan (Kelly) Biek of Stevensville, Matthew (Paige) Biek of Grand Rapids; one granddaughter Elliot Biek; siblings, Suzzane (Sam) Antonazzo of Clarkston, Michigan, Pamela (Ray) Smuda of Manistee, Michigan, Douglas Brant of Novi, Michigan, Michael Brant and partner Chase Cole of Columbus, Ohio, Kathleen Brant and spouse Maureen Richards of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
