Chieftain JV remain undefeated

The Dowagiac JV football team remained undefeated with a 35-6 win over host Three Rivers Thursday.

Dowagiac led 35-0 before the Wildcats scored a late touchdown.

“We also played well on the offensive side of the ball moving the ball and controlling the clock,” Dowagiac coach Matt Alward said.

Leading 14-0 at the half, Erik Walker broke Three Rivers’ back with a 92-yard kickoff return the start the second half.  He also caught a touchdown pass from Kyle Thies and added a 3-yard touchdown run.

Shawn Sirk scored on a 60-yard run Bradley Moran finished the scoring with a 36-yard run.

“These young men played a great game against a good team and it showed on the scoreboard,” Alward said.
