Lee O’Donald Patrick, 90, of Niles died on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at the Golden Living Nursing Home Center, Mishawaka, Indiana. He was born July 14, 1924, in South Bend to Dolphus Canady and Opal L. (Pollitt) Patrick.

Lee was a 1943 graduate of Washington-Clay High School in South Bend where he was a star athlete. He was a World War II Veteran, having served on the U.S.S. Cacapon ship in the United States Navy. He was the former longtime president of the Michigan Archery Association, longtime president of the Izaac Walton Archery League of South Bend and member of the Bend of the River Conservation Club, Niles. Lee enjoyed golfing and taught his boys the sport, as well as archery, hunting and fishing.

On July 12, 1947, Lee married the former Marion May Hall, who survives with their sons, Kelly (and wife Trish) Patrick of South Bend and Kevin Patrick of Ann Arbor, Michigan; grandchildren, Jamus Patrick of Elgin, South Carolina, Roslyn Crowell of Saline, Michigan, Jennifer (and husband Jason) Doll of Pinckney, Michigan, Lisa Swieczkowski and Tracy Wojtas, both of Indianpolis, and Michelle Wojtas of Mishawaka. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and Lee’s three sisters.

Lee was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services for Lee O’Donald Patrick will be held at 1:30p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in South Bend with military honors.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 at the funeral home.

Donations in memory of Lee may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
